We’re delighted to announce that Kings Place Student Accommodation in central London has successfully achieved Gateway 2 approval, marking a significant milestone for the development.

Delivered for Unite Students and main contractor RG Group, the mixed-use development will provide high-quality purpose-built student accommodation alongside affordable residential apartments, workspaces and commercial office space in the historic heart of London.

Designed to offer a modern living and learning environment, the development will feature a range of amenities, including communal lounges, dedicated study areas, a cinema, events kitchen, gym, extensive cycle storage and landscaped terraces.

CGP|MEP was appointed to provide the Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) design, delivering RIBA Stage 3 services for RG Group and RIBA Stage 4 services for C&D Electrical, supporting the wider project team in securing Gateway 2 approval.

Gateway 2 approval represents a significant achievement, demonstrating that the proposed design meets the relevant building safety requirements before construction can proceed. Reaching this milestone requires detailed coordination, technical expertise and close collaboration across the project team.

We’re pleased to have played a part in achieving this important milestone and look forward to seeing the development progress.
