The project was for the construction of a new aquatic centre in Rhyl, located on the sea front, the new facility replaces the old leisure centre and brings back to life the external splash pad.

The new facility briefly comprises of the following areas:

• Leisure Box
• Changing Facilities
• Kitchen
• Bar/Café
• Seating Areas
• Party/Meeting Rooms
• Kids Soft Play and Viewing Areas
• Toilet Facilities

The MEP strategies for the building were driven by the location of the building limited the opportunity to locate plant and equipment externally due the coastal conditions, the energy efficient solution included LED lighting throughout, low SFP and high efficiency air handling units, roof mounted photovoltaic cells (located at the front of the building) and intelligent controls.
