The project was for the refurbishment, remodelling and extension of the existing leisure centre to provide a better experience for users
The works briefly comprise of the following areas:
- Fitness Suites / Studios / Gymnasium
- Changing Facilities
- Toilet Facilities
The works also included full plant replacement to ensure the building operates as efficiently as possible following completion of the works.
CGP | MEP undertook works from initial site survey to ascertain the condition of the existing installation and provided a recommendations report prior to completing the Stage 2 design for ISG (Main Contractor) to ensure the Clients aspirations were achieved and obtain cost confidence for the scheme before completing the detailed design for installation for the T Clarke (MEP Contractor)
The MEP strategies for the building were driven by the constraints of the existing building and location of the extension integrating with the existing building which limited the opportunity to locate plant and equipment externally, the energy efficient solution included LED lighting throughout, low SFP and high efficiency air handling units and intelligent controls.
