Clay Cross Active

Clay Cross Active is a £29m new build leisure centre to replace the original Sharley Park Leisure Centre and interconnected to the retained sports hall.

The new centre comprises of:

  • 6 lane 25m main pool, learner pool with spectator seating
  • 100 station fitness suite
  • Spin studio
  • 4 court sports hall
  • Changing places facilities
  • Treatment rooms / clinic rooms
  • Inerva wellness suite
  • Soft play and interactive play area for young children
  • TAG Active
  • Community café

The design adopted a “fabric first” approach to maximise energy efficiency with air source heat pump technology utilised as the primary heat source.
